Researcher at CoLABOR – Line of Social Protection / Social and Solidarity Economy

Daniel Fernando da Soledade Carolo (1979) has a degree in Social Work (ISSSL), a master’s degree in Economics and Social Policy (ISEG-UL) and a PhD in Social Sciences / Political Sociology (ICS-UL).

In addition to the activity as Invited Assistant Professor at ISCTE-IUL, and previously at ISEG-UL and INA – National Institute of Public Administration, where he has taught several curricular units in the areas of research, development, public policies for social protection and social security, he worked in Timor-Leste where he was the advisor responsible for creating the first Social Security Law in Timor-Leste (2010-2012) and, subsequently, Attaché for Cooperation at the Portuguese Embassy in Dili, (2012-2015).

In 2019 he was named a member of the National Council for Solidarity and Social Security Policies (CNPSSS) of the MTSSS.
