CoLABOR 2023 Conference "Employment in Portugal. Diagnoses, Trends and Policies"

PRESS RELEASE

On December 6, in Porto, in the auditorium of the Manuel António da Mota Foundation, CoLABOR - Collaborative Laboratory for Work, Employment and Social Protection - will hold the CoLABOR 2023 Conference, this year dedicated to the theme "Employment in Portugal: Diagnoses, Trends and Policies".

CoLABOR is the only collaborative laboratory whose agenda focuses on the themes of work and employment and their connections with social protection systems, taking on technological change in its transversality.

Employment in Portugal is going through a period of recomposition and change, some accelerated, others gradual, with short and medium-term social, economic and political impacts.

In this context, the CoLABOR 2023 Conference will focus on analyzing these trends and reflecting on them strategically, mobilizing the knowledge and perspectives of qualified players from the business, academic, trade union and political spheres.

The four thematic sessions of these days will focus on employment needs, taking into account the affirmation of labor shortages in various economic sectors, the migration scenario, and skills mismatches, particularly in some subsectors of industry. The impact of technology on the organization of work and tax policies and contribution systems will also be discussed.

The meeting will also be attended by António Cunha, President of CCRD Norte. The Minister of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security, Ana Mendes Godinho, will speak at the closing session.
