She has a PhD in Sociology from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (specializing in Labour Relations, Social Inequalities and Trade Unionism). She is also a researcher at the Center for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra (CES-UC).

She was involved in the REB-UNIONS (Rebuilding Trade Union Power in the age of austerity: a review of three sectors / CES) and REVAL (From internal devaluation to revaluation of work: the case of Portugal / CES - Dinâmia/CET) projects, under which she worked as a researcher.

He has developed his research in the area of industrial relations, particularly on collective labor relations, collective bargaining and trade unionism, with an emphasis on studies on union revitalization.
