September 27th: Participatory event – Work Platforms: Urban Mobility and Labor Rights
The Event “WORK PLATFORMS: Urban Mobility and Labor Rights”, which will take place on September 27th, at 2 pm, at the Palácio Galveias Library, promoted by CoLABOR in partnership with the European project PLUS – Platform Labor in Urban Spaces, has as a general theme, the socioeconomic implications that arise from the business model based on the economy of digital platforms in the urban mobility sector.
This initiative consists of two parts. In the first part, there will be a closed session (World Café), where there will be a discussion around the problems of the sector and the challenges that the current legal framework poses, namely:
What are the main challenges facing the sector, particularly in terms of labor and employment relations, technological intermediation, urban mobility management and climate transition?
What are the challenges facing the various key players with regard to the working conditions practiced in the sector (type of contractual relationship with the TVDE platform and/or operator, access to social protection and labor rights, digital transparency, labor accountability, collective labor rights and social dialogue)?
What are the challenges of managing the work process intermediated by new information and communication technologies (digital transparency, algorithmic management and subordination, traceability and labor accountability, the exercise of collective labor rights)?
In a second part, there will be a public presentation of the preliminary conclusions of the World Café.
