CoLAB annual report 2023

Check out the information released by the National Innovation Agency on Collaborative Laboratories (CoLAB) in Portugal.

In Portugal, there are currently 35 CoLABs in different areas of knowledge, at national or regional level, including CoLABOR - Collaborative Laboratory for Work, Employment and Social Protection.

The total number of national collaborative laboratories is 295, of which 174 are companies and 121 are non-profit organizations.

Since its creation in 2019, CoLAB has been responsible for creating 639 highly qualified jobs.

The expansion and consolidation of CoLAB activities should be supported by public funding (63.4%), competitive funds (11.4%) and private income from services provided and research contracts (25.2%).
