Contexts and readings of the Decent Work Agenda - some notes
The most recent publication in the Policies in Analysis editorial line reflects the intervention of Catarina de Oliveira Carvalho, associate professor at the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University, at the conference organized by CoLABOR, entitled "Decent Work: Context and Readings of the Agenda", held on November 4, 2023.
With some legislative, jurisprudential and doctrinal updates justified by the lapse of time between the oral intervention and its publication and by the subsequent entry into force of legislation regulating Law 13/2023, this publication focuses on three key aspects of the new legal provisions:
- The protection of new groups that, until now, were largely outside the scope of labor law, such as digital platform workers and economically dependent independent contractors;
- Changes in conciliation, thus promoting gender equality;
- Measures adopted to combat precarious employment.
