CoLABOR is part of the FUTOURWORK project consortium, an ambitious initiative funded by Horizon Europe that aims to reimagine the future of work in the tourism and hospitality sector (accommodation, catering and similar). Through research and inclusive social dialogue, the project will tackle key issues such as job insecurity, platform work and workers' well-being.
Tourism and hospitality are essential to the European economy, employing 13 million people, with a large representation of women, migrants and young people, and currently facing 1.2 million unfilled vacancies. Led by the University of Westminster, FUTOURWORK has eight partners from six countries, directly involving workers, employers and social dialogue representatives through surveys, interviews and collaborative dialogues. The project will develop innovative tools, including a well-being index for benchmarking in the sector, a documentary with workers' stories and an online platform where workers can get information about their rights.
With these actions, FUTOURWORK aims to foster knowledge, raise awareness in society and drive political change, promoting decent and inclusive working conditions in the tourism and hospitality sector.
