The Decent Work Agenda, the law and precariousness

The Decent Work Agenda was presented by the Government in 2022 as a set of strategic measures in the labour area aimed at improving working conditions, with the fight against precariousness being one of its priority objectives. Based on this Agenda, Law No. 13/2023, published on April 3, brought a significant number of amendments to the Labour Code, reformulating the legal regimes for matters often associated with the phenomenon of job insecurity, such as temporary work or platform work, to name just a few of the topics that were the subject of the recent revision. While acknowledging the relevance and usefulness of many of the changes to the Labour Code regime introduced by Law No. 13/2023 for job stability and security, it cannot, however, be denied that the objective of decent work has not been completed with the recent revision.
