July 4: Decent Work. Context and readings of the Agenda
The entry into force of Law 13/2023 brought a significant number of changes to the Labor Code and related legislation. However, their scope and the characteristics of their impact will be revealed by the dynamics and meanings resulting from their application/effectiveness over time, and it is certain that the initial interpretations are always relevant.
June 9: Global infrastructures: the production of the modern world
The first workshop of the international INCA_eu project, of which CoLABOR is one of the partner organizations, has as its theme "Global infrastructures: the production of the modern world".
April 12th: Fulfilling Portugal - Dimension, Innovation, Internationalization
On April 12, the director of CoLABOR, Manuel Carvalho da Silva, will be one of the speakers at the CIP Conference "Fulfilling Portugal - Dimension, Innovation, Internationalization", on the panel dedicated to "The importance of social dialogue".
March 23: Book launch "The persistence of the devaluation of work and the urgency of its revaluation"
On March 23, at 5:30 p.m., Livraria Almedina will launch the book "The persistence of the devaluation of work and the urgency of its revaluation", coordinated by Maria da Paz Campos Lima and José Castro Caldas. Manuel Carvalho da Silva, director of CoLABOR, will give the presentation.
Feb 16, Webinar: Wages in Portugal. Patterns of evolution, inflation and inequalities.
The study "Wages in Portugal: patterns of evolution, inflation and inequalities" analyzes the evolution of the real value of wages in Portugal since the beginning of the millennium and the wage inequalities associated with gender, nationality, contractual precariousness and educational qualifications of workers in the different sectors of economic activity.
December 12: CoLABOR Conferences 2022 “Work: Asymmetries and Socioeconomic Change”
CoLABOR, the Collaborative Laboratory for Work, Employment and Social Protection, and its Associates organized on December 12th, at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (auditorium 3), the CoLABOR 2022 Days dedicated to the theme “Work: Asymmetries and Socioeconomic Change” .
September 27th: Participatory event – Work Platforms: Urban Mobility and Labor Rights
The Event “WORK PLATFORMS: Urban Mobility and Labor Rights”, which will take place on September 27th, at 2 pm, at the Palácio Galveias Library, promoted by CoLABOR in partnership with the European project PLUS – Platform Labor in Urban Spaces, has as a general theme, the socioeconomic implications that arise from the business model based on the economy of digital platforms in the urban mobility sector.
September 21st: Decent Work on the CoLABOR Agenda
CoLABOR has work, employment and social protection at the center of its Agenda. The debate surrounding the Decent Work Agenda therefore deserves reinforced attention from this Collaborative Laboratory. Several research works have been developed that contribute to that objective (see https://colabor.pt/projetos/) and reflection texts with a more legal nature have been made available. November 4th: CoLABOR Days | Work on climate and digital transitions
On November 4th, at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, CoLABOR, the Collaborative Laboratory for Work, Employment and Social Protection, promoted an international meeting entitled “Work in Climate and Digital Transitions”, with the aim of contributing to reflection and qualification of the debate public about the repercussions that these changes, accelerated by the pandemic crisis and the subsequent global economic and social crisis, bring to working conditions and employment, as well as to social protection and labor regulation.
3 July 2020: Post-COVID-19 Skills 4 for Science and Higher Education (online session)
The “Skills 4 post-COVID-19 for Science and Higher Education” initiative promoted by the Collaborative Laboratory for Work, Employment and Social Protection (CoLABOR), in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, took place in the past July 3rd.

CoLABOR – Collaborative Laboratory for Work, Employment and Social Protection organized, on April 29, 2019, the international conference Work 4.0: Technology, Work and Employment in the 21st Century. The session aimed to present CoLABOR, the DataLABOR information platform and its research and intervention agenda and discuss the present and future impacts of new technologies on work and employment.
