Summary

Start-up phase for the development of a study with the participation of CoLABOR Private Sector Associates and others, entitled 'Employment in Portugal: business strategies, policies and trends'. Its objectives will be (i) to promote business strategies in the face of the dynamics of the labor market and the economy; and (ii) to contribute to public policies that can respond to imbalances in the demand for and supply of labor in Portugal. The project will be developed in phases, deepening and broadening its scope in subsequent phases. In Phase I, Main Employment Trends and Challenges in Portugal, the aim is to begin a preliminary diagnosis of the dynamics of work and employment in Portugal, mobilizing three key themes: migratory movements; skills, expectations and quality of employment; and tax policies and work.
