Work, employment and social protection 2024
This publication aims to portray, frame and relate trends in the areas of work, employment and social protection, as well as analyze and problematize public policies. The five thematic areas analyzed are: the economic context; the workforce; work and employment; remuneration; and social protection. Although they are dealt with independently, the domains in question have deeply interpenetrating relationships and it is in their articulation that the analysis aims to characterize work, employment and social protection in Portugal. Each area explores various themes which, taken together, make it possible to characterize the country's economic, social and political-institutional framework. The analysis highlights both positive and challenging trends, short-term trends and others of a more structural nature, facts that can be changed incrementally and others that call for more far-reaching reforms
